Research biography

👋🏼 My name is Nihar Paul, and I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Climate Change and Sustainability, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, India. I also serve as a Guest Investigator in the Department of Physical Oceanography at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Massachusetts, USA.

My research focuses on the fundamental processes governing ocean circulation and climate dynamics. Broadly, I am interested in mesoscale eddy dynamics, nonlinear dynamics in geophysical flows, air–sea interaction processes, submesoscale turbulence and internal waves, shallow-water systems, rotating and stratified turbulence, machine learning applications in oceanography, and ocean modeling.

Further details about my academic background, publications, and ongoing research can be found in my CV.
